This is the 2nd song that I ever created, which was probably written around 1993. This is the next song that I will turn into a full band recording. I play all of the instruments, so it takes me a while to pull everything together. I’m slowly trying to record every song for my demo album and I’m going in the order of when they were written.

This is the first song that I ever wrote and it was first written on a Harmony acoustic guitar in May of 1987. I was going through a major transition in my life and this song came out with a hopeful emotion. I barely knew how to play guitar at the time, but I definitely tapped into something positive. Even though it’s only about 1:35 minutes long, it took me 38+ years to finally finish the song.

This was an experiment to see if I could record everything in one take. I didn’t practice the electric guitar parts, which shows, but that was part of the experiment. I recorded 2 takes of the drums with different kick patterns and chose this version. The vocal pattern was harder, so I used the pass that I liked and recorded a double track. Overall, it was a success and showed me what I need to work on. Drums are the hardest to record properly and I accidently recorded bass over the snare track, so the snare comes from an overhead mic. This whole project took about 6 hours of recording and editing.
Serenity is one of my oldest songs, which I originally wrote back in the mid 90s. I wrote and recorded Missing Link (it didn’t have a title back then) as a demo a few years later, but it went missing until last Fall. After finding it on an old hard drive, I realized right away that it was the song that I had I lost, and couldn’t remember. Its DNA could be found in other songs that I’ve written, so that’s why it’s called Missing Link. I then realized that it goes well with Serenity, so it’s now essentially one song. This is still a work in progress. From 1987 until about 2001, I only played acoustic guitar. I’m now revisiting the songs that I wrote way back then.

Rise UP! is an original song that I wrote about the American people waking up and fighting back against fascist control and criminality. The 2nd half of the song is supposed to be heavy guitar, but I just wanted to get the demo done.
