Experienced Bass Player

Tussey Mountain Beer Garden - Summer 2023

I’ve now been playing guitar for about 38 years (2025), but it wasn’t until I picked up the bass 23 years ago that things started to fall into place for me, musically. However, even though I was jamming with people on bass back then, I actually started out as a sound guy. Running the board for other musicians gave me really important knowledge and experience about how everything fits together!

I started out running sound for a southern rock band called Main Switch back in late 2004, which taught me the importance of each instrument’s frequency space. They were loud! That band also taught me that lead singers and drummers should stay away from whiskey and cocaine during gigs. Anyway, I then moved on to running sound for a classic rock band called Then Again, in 2006. I got pretty good on the board, but I desperately wanted to play bass full-time, so I joined a new band called G211 (Goes to Eleven) in early 2007.

Since G211, I’ve played hundreds of shows for thousands of people. It’s been quite a journey AND the fulfillment of a childhood dream. Thank you, Ringo Starr, for the inspiration way back in 5th grade!!

The first time that I played at Williamsport Welcomes The World, which kicks off the Little League World Series weekend, it was a really big deal for me. First, I got to play with these amazing musicians and secondly, everything for me started in Williamsport in 1987. That’s a long story, but it was amazing to be back in that town, playing as the type of musician that I always wanted to be.
